ABSTRACT

A predictive pulp bleaching model utilizing physical phenomenon models and chemical reaction kinetics is introduced. Examples dealing with buffering properties of pulps, mass transfer limitations in fibre wall, and the kinetics of hexenuronic acid hydrolysis were used to elucidate the use of the model.
